1. Introduction

The Best Western Premier Hotel Victoria is committed to making its website and mobile applications accessible in accordance with legal requirements. The accessibility requirements result from the Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG), in particular from § 14 BFSG in conjunction with § 3 para. 1 BFSG, as well as the underlying Ordinance to the Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSGV). The specific technical measures are based on the guidelines of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 with conformity levels A and AA. This accessibility statement applies to the website hotel-victoria.de.

This website is partially accessible, as not all requirements are fully met.



3. Non-accessible content

a) Technical barriers:

  • Wrong or missing HTML structure: The page structure sometimes uses heading levels without a preceding logical order . This makes navigation within the content difficult, especially for users of assistive technologies. We will fix this.
  • Some content, such as embedded maps (Google Maps) or image galleries, is opened on our website in so-called „lightboxes“. These interactive windows are currently not fully accessible. We are working on making these functions accessible in the future. As a transitional solution, we also provide all content (e.g. addresses, directions, captions) in text form or send these on request.

b) Content barriers:

  • PDF and Office documents not accessible (missing tags, poor structure, non-accessible tables).
  • Language mix on the website: Some sections contain English terms without the language being correctly marked up in the code.

c) Unreasonable burden:
According to Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, an exception due to unreasonable burden may be invoked for certain content. Despite our efforts, it is currently not possible for us to offer the following content completely accessible:

  • Older PDF documents and Office files:
    Many PDF documents and Word files published before June 26, 2025 are not accessible. These documents sometimes contain missing structures, insufficient alternative texts for images or complex tables, which cannot be revised at short notice without additional resources.

The Best Western Premier Hotel Victoria is a multi-award-winning, environmentally friendly 4-star city hotel in the heart of Freiburg. It is just a few minutes' walk from the main train station, Freiburg Minster and the historic old town. The hotel offers 64 stylishly furnished non-smoking rooms, a cocktail bar in the vaulted cellar (“Hemingway”), a sauna with fitness area and its own relaxation oasis (“Prana”). It is aimed at business travelers, city tourists and the sustainability-conscious. The hotel is powered entirely by renewable energy and offers free Wi-Fi and excellent public transport connections.

  1. Booking and reservation:
    Bookings are made via a structured online interface with options for room category, length of stay and additional services. Offers for short breaks, business trips and sustainable stays are available.

  2. Check-in and stay:
    Reception is staffed around the clock. Guests are welcomed personally and receive information about rooms, breakfast times and leisure activities. The “Hemingway” bar and the wellness area are available.

  3. Conferences and events:
    The hotel offers modern conference rooms with natural daylight, technical equipment and individual seating. The rooms are suitable for smaller business meetings and workshops.

  4. Additional services:
    Bookable services include sauna, fitness room, hairdresser, bicycle rental, laundry, ticket advice and parking (for a fee). Five type 2 charging stations, including Tesla Superchargers, are available for e-mobility.

  5. Online information:
    All information on rooms, prices, services and mobility offers (e.g. barrier-free rooms, pet-friendliness) is clearly presented on the website. A bed tax of 5% applies for private travelers, which is included in the room rate.
